Latest Round Up

Well well well, no posts for a week ey? It won't be like that if I can help it!
Anyways, onto the latest round up.

Yokohama played against FC Tokyo yesterday and unfortunately for us fans, the match ended up in a 1-1 draw with Tanaka scoring for Yokohama on 62 minutes, but with one minute of normal time left FC Tokyo drew even through a Masushima goal. Unlucky for Yokohama >_< http://rapidshare.de/files/16991165/J_League_highlights_-_Saturday_-_Round_6.wmv.html (Courtesy of VideoNewbie from BigSoccer).

Shanghai Shenhua play tonight against Shenzen Kingway, and will hopefully come away with a draw. During the midweek matches Shanghai Shenhua played the first derby of the season against Shanghai Liancheng Zobon and unfortunately for the team and us fans came away with a 0-0 draw. Not good, and hopefully they can pick themselves up so they don't end up chasing the leaders for the majority of the season.

And for those interesetd, here are some links to some goals from Shenhua's earlier games.

Nabisco Cup 2006

The 2006 Nabisco cup kick's off on Wednesday 29th of March, with Yokohama facing off against Avispa Fukuoka. The other two teams in Yokohama's group is Urawa Reds and FC Tokyo. Yokohama should be able to pull of wins against both Avispa and Tokyo however Urawa will be the biggest difficulty in obtaining first place. Whilst not impossible, Yokohama will certainly have to be on their game against Urawa to knock them off of top spot.
Meanwhile, here are the rest of the groups for the other teams participating. Gamba is seeded due to their involvement in the Asian Champions League and will therefore participate from the Quarter Finals onward. I've put the clubs in bold that I'm tipping to progress.

GROUP A
Urawa Reds
FC Tokyo
Yokohama F Marinos
Avispa Fukuoka

GROUP B
Kashima Antlers
Oita Trinita Kyoto
Purple Sanga
Kawasaki Frontale

GROUP C
Jef Chiba
Sanfrecce Hiroshima
Albirex Niigata
Shimizu S-Pulse

GROUP D
Nagoya Grampus
Ventforet Kofu
Cerezo Osaka
Jubilo Iwata
Omiya Ardija

Should be good games all around!
